Monday July 23rd 2018 4 miles - 6:21 pace Temp: 65° Weather: Raining/ Cloudy Summary: Ran at the gym on the treadmill. Wasn’t feeling super great but I wanted to get a good run in anyways. I was happy with my 4 miles at 6:21 pace. Hope that I can get some good runs in this week with the higher amount of mileage. Spent some time in the pool stretching and swimming. Body: Heel is a bit sore after run.

Week #6 July 23rd-July 29th

Week #6 July 23rd-July 29th 40 miles Long run: 8-9 miles Cross training: 2x @45 minutes Monday: 5 miles - Gym Swim/Aquajog ————————————— Tuesday: 9 miles - Lebonan Rest ————————————— Wednesday: 6 miles - Etna Bike ————————————— Thursday: 7 miles - Recovery - Waterbury ————————————— Friday: 7 miles - Town ————————————— Saturday: 6 miles - Town ————————————— Sunday: Off day The last couple weeks of training have gone really well. I totally neglected to blog my runs last week but I managed to get in 25 mile in 3 days since I got my wisdom teeth out. Since Week #3 I’ve been hitting my miles, I’ve gotten some good fast paced runs in, and my legs feel great. Some things I want to focus on this week: #1 Scheduling cross training workouts . (Doesn’t mean it can’t be fun) A lot of my cross training is done spontaneously when I’m at the gym or needing to bike somewhere. I want to make an effort this week to plan out cross training workouts to make sure I don’t sl...

Monday - July 16th 2018 - Week #5 6 miles - Recovery Temp: 85° Weather: Sunny Summary: I wanted to do a long run today but ended up running with some high school friends at recovery pace. It’s probably good for me to take a recovery day today and grind a hard day tomorrow because I can’t run Wednesday-Friday. Ideally I would like to do 9 miles tomorrow, I might be forced to do those miles in the gym considering there is supposed to be a crazy thunderstorms. Body: Accustomed.

Sunday

Sunday - July 15th 2018 - Week #4 4 miles - 7:00 pace Temp: 80° Weather: Sunny Summary: Ran with Frost and Bandler for a solid 4 miles at 7:00 pace. Took a tip in the Connecticut River afterwards. Was gunna try to do a backflip on the rope swing but its a new thicker one and didn’t wanna mane myself. Core. Strides. Body: Pretty good

Saturday

Saturday - July 15th 2018 - Week #4 7 miles - 7:02 pace Temp: 75° Weather: cloudy Summary: Ran with Joseph and Matt 3 miles down and 3 miles back Rudsboro road from the Etna Church then I ran a mile home from the church. I also did strides and core today. We treated today’s run like a recovery run even though the pace was pushed at the end of our Rudsboro run and my run home was definitely training pace. Body: I’m feeling pretty good actually.

Friday

Friday - July 13th 2018 - Week #4 Weather: Sunny/cloudy Temp: 70° Summary: I was going to run at the gym but it was just so nice out that I decided to go run on the Rail Trail in Lebanon. Planned on doing 5 miles and met that goal. That brings my total up to 26.5 miles this week so far. I’ve been debating whether I want to do a long run tomorrow or not. I could definitely just bust out 8.5 miles and call it a week. Next week is going to be sort of harsh because I get my wisdom teeth taken out on Thursday. Wish me luck. Body: Sore. Need to do some more cross training.

Thursday

Thursday - July 12th 2018 - Week #4 5.5 miles - Recovery Summary: Like I said in my last post these runs are starting to get a lot easier. Last week I kinda fell of the wagon being in Montreal for 4 days of the week, but I feel confident that I can get throigh this week doing 35 miles. Today I did a recovery run in Norwich with Joseph, Matt, and Daniel Bandler. It wasn’t anything too impressive. We just enjoyed a good trail run together. P.S. It’s my Birthday Body: good

Wednesday

Wednesday - July 11th 2018 - Week #4 5 miles - 6:18 pace Summary: Started off running pretty fast and ended up maintaining it throughout my run. I’m slowly getting used to doing more and more miles now that we’re onto week #4. I ran from my house to 2.5 miles away on Rudsboro road and back. Felt pretty good actually despite having some ankle soreness earlier this week. Body: feeling decently good

Tuesday

Tuesday - July 10th 2018- Week #4 7 miles - 7:36 pace Weather: N/A Temp: N/A Summary: The pace of my 7 miler is actually quite deceiving given that I started the first couple miles of my run off at an easy 8:00 pace. After that I started to feel a bunch better and kicked it up to 7:00 and eventually 6:30 pace for the final mile and a half. I’m hesitant to consider this my long run given that Luke’s plan demands between 8-9 miles for my true long run this week. It feels good to have a solid 11 miles done at the beginning of the week. Hopefully there’s more good to come. Tomorrow’s plan is a long recovery with some friends and hopefully a nice swim. Body: Wish I had a personal masseuse.

Monday

Monday -July 9th 2018 - Week #4 4 miles - 6:50 pace Temp: 90° Weather: sunny Summary: I was planning on doing a long run but after a mile or so my ankle started to feel pretty sore. That was when I decided to just do a normal training run at a decent pace. I was running in Etna from my house to a mile or so down Dogford Road. After my run I went swimming with a couple friends out in Norwich. Body: Sore

Week #4 July 9th-July 15th

WEEK #4 July 9th-July 15th Week #3 was not at all what I expected. The sun was boiling hot at the beginning of the week making it difficult to run. After my long run day I developed a terrible shin split in my left leg and decided to take Tuesday off. Wednesday was the 4th of July. Thursday I spent the majority of the day driving and barely got any miles in. Same with Friday. Saturday I managed to run a few miles through the tight city blocks of Montreal. All this time I was walking 4-5 miles a day if not more to avoid going absolutely broke on Uber fares. And Sunday I decided that I may as well cut my losses after an exhausting day of travel and start THIS WEEK, Week #4 well rested and determined to meet if not exceed my mileage. 35 miles Long run 8-9 miles Cross training 3 x 30 minutes Monday: 8 miles - long run Strides Swim ————————— Tuesday: 5 mile - recovery run Aqua jogging ————————— Wednesday: 4 mile - training run Strides ————————— Thursday: 4 miles - trai...

Saturday - July 7th 2018 - Week #3 3.5 miles - 7:35 pace Summary: After a couple days of lazidasical running I decided to actually go out and run a bit in the city. I ended up running all around downtown Montreal. I ran 3 miles when I realized that I didn’t know where I was and ended up running an extra half mile to find the apartment again. This is my last night in Montreal. I’ll try and run some tomorrow to get closer to my y’all for mileage Week #3. Body: Tired

Friday

Friday - July 6th 2018 - Week #3 3 miles - 7:30 pace Summary: Repeating what we did yesterday we ended up running down to Cafe Campus instead of taking an Uber. Then after the club we ran all the way back home and then back to the club once we dropped off my friend Daniel back at the apartment. Gotta love summer2018. Body: Tired

Thursday

Thursday - July 5th 2018 - Week #3 2 miles - 7:45 pace Summary: My friends and I spent the first night in Montreal at a local bar a mile or so away from our apartment. We took and Uber there, but didn’t wanna spend the cash for the way back so we ran. We ended up getting a bit lost and ended up running 2 miles home. Body: I am definitely going to work in some extra cross training next week when I get back home.

Wednesday

Wednesday - July 4th 2018 - Week #3 4.5 miles - 7:10 pace Weather: sunny Temp: 93° Wind: N/A Summary: Daniel Frost and I ran 4.5 miles on the rail trail in Lebanon NH today. We planned on doing 5 miles but the temperature turned us around a bit earlier than we expected. All in all it was a good run and we actually kept the pace pretty quick considering the heat and sun. The rail trail is pretty flat.

Tuesday

Tuesday - July 3rd 2018 - Week #3 Rest day. I spent the day with my family before my mom went off to Austin TX. It was way too hot to run during the day.

Monday

Monday - July 2nd 2018 - Week #3 7.9 miles - 7:45 pace Weather: hot/sunny Tempature: 96° Wind: N/A Summary: Ran with Daniel Frost at 4:00 up towards and around Sachem and then down to the swimming spot at Brownie Land. Took a quick dip and then back to the school. This added up to around 4 miles. Once it cooled down in the evening I ended up running 3.9 in Etna. I’ll be trying to do around 20 miles before Thursday when I leave on my trip to Montreal. I’ll definitely try to run in Montreal, but I would feel better getting most of my mileage in beforehand. Body: hot and tired. (Right ankle is a bit sore.)

Week #3 July 2nd-July 8th

Week #3 July 2nd-July 8th Week #2 total mileage: 24.44 miles. The mileage and pace definitely picked up during Week #2. Instead of doing 8:00-8:30 pace we averaged around 7:00-7:30 pace and even got down to 5:00 pace at some points in runs. Although the week ended with me destroying my Hokas I’m excited that we had such a successful week pace and mileage wise. This week I plan to do similar mileage, it will be challenging considering I will be spending 4 days this week in Montreal, Canada. I’m definitely planning on packing on the miles early on in the week so that I can relax a bit while I’m in the city. Week #2  | 25-30 miles Cross training: 2x @30-45 minutes —————————— Monday: 2 miles - Etna - Morning Water jogging 5 miles - Rail Trail ——————————— Tuesday: 2 miles - Etna - Morning 5 mile - Recovery Swim ——————————— Wednesday: 2 miles - Etna - Morning 4 miles - Brownie Land - Recovery Swim ——————————— Thursday: Montreal ——————————— Friday: 3 miles - ...

Sunday

Sunday - July 1st 2018 - Week #2 Off day. Shoes broken. Ordered new ones. Week #2 total mileage. 24.44

Saturday

Saturday - June 30th 2018 - Week #2 4.5 miles - Recovery - 4 strides Weather: Sunny Tempature: 95° Wind: N/A Summary: Today was honestly terrible. Started off running with Matt and Frost planning to finish up our weekly mileage. The run stopped short when we lost our way on the power lines behind Sachem Fields and started to head back. At this point we were around about 4 miles. Frost stopped cause he was feeling some major cramping, but Matt and I forged on. We were about half way to Sachem when I stepped sideways on a rock and my foot went straight through the inside of my right HOKA. Even though my shoe was wrecked I managed to do 4 barefoot strides at Sachem Village. The run was less than impressive and honestly quite defeating. I don’t plan on running tomorrow given it’s going to be close to 100° and I don’t have any good shoes. Body: Dehydrated.
